United Way Blackhawk Region welcomes a newly elected director to its volunteer board. The board is responsible for setting policy for the local United Way, reviewing and approving the annual budget and audit, and determining grant investments for more than 96 health and human services programs in Rock County, Wis. and Northern Winnebago County, Ill.

Kevin Flanagan has been chief executive officer and president at Janesville-based Hufcor, Inc. since May 2014.  Hufcor is the world's largest manufacturer of operable partitions with 13 subsidiary and licensed manufacturing facilities and dozens of sales offices worldwide.

Flanagan is currently a trustee for University Lake School in Hartland, Wisconsin and serves on the board of directors. He graduated in 1979 from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Clarie with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. From June 2011 to May 2014, Flanagan was an independent consultant in the greater Milwaukee area, providing diverse strategic solutions to medical device, software, manufacturing, service and real estate companies. During this time, Flanagan also served on the Greater Milwaukee United Way Board of Directors. He currently resides in Oconomowoc with his wife, and two sons.

“We are pleased to welcome Kevin Flanagan to United Way Blackhawk Region Board of Directors,” said Board Chairman Jon Schlemmer. “In addition to his professional accomplishments, he also has a proven devotion to United Way with his past board experience with our sister United Way, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County.”
